TAKING EVERY STEP WITH CONFIDENCE.

Steve Namiotka was at his youngest daughter’s soccer tournament in October of 2006 when he first thought of the idea behind Golden Laces™. His daughter’s team was having a successful season, but on this particular day, the girls lacked motivation and confidence. Steve wished there was a way to give the athletes more confidence and remind them of past games when they played to their potential. That evening, a thought  came to him: “What if the players wore something that could remind them of a previous win or championship? How about a pair of gold shoelaces!” Athletes could wear their award everywhere they went, even during games. The shoelaces would be a constant reminder that they succeeded before, and could do so again.

As it turned out, using shoelaces to inspire the athletes was the perfect idea. After all, the laces in an athlete’s shoes, much like their confidence during a game, was an easy thing to take for granted. But without either, the athlete couldn’t perform to their full potential. Indeed, these shoelaces could serve as a constant reminder of past successes. The idea of Golden Laces™ was born.

Steve recruited his oldest daughter, Maigan, to help make his dream a reality. Together their mission is to inspire athletes around the world to try their hardest, and take every step with confidence!
